Khamsin

The first of a series I'm working on. On December 17th, 1998, I moved to Israel. Since I'm in the Middle East, I decided to make a sort of "Desert" series of landscapes. Of course, this doesn't look a thing like an Israeli desert. It's more like what you see in Sinai or in Saudi Arabia. There are a few sand dunes in the Israeli desert, but it's harder to find. I have been in a sandstorm a few times, however - they come up into the Israeli desert from Saudi Arabia, and this is sort of what one looks like from personal experience (although they also tend to shape in textures, colors, etc...in a wildly varied display). It's a simple picture but, again, makes a beautiful desktop. :) 02/18/99
